The Hubble Space Telescope Captured
The Hubble Space Telescope is a large astronomical observatory that launched on 24th April, 1990, and has provided us with a wide array of awe-inspiring images ever since.
Hubble Space Telescope captured an impressive image of a turbulent mix of glowing gas and dark dust in the Large Magellanic Cloud, one of the Milky Way’s satellite galaxies. This celestial spectacle showcases a vast stellar nursery spanning over 150 light-years. Within this nursery, numerous hot young stars emit intense ultraviolet light, causing nearby hydrogen gas to glow. Additionally, powerful stellar winds shape the surrounding material into ridges, arcs, and filaments.
At the center of this cosmic cloud lies the Papillon Nebula, resembling a butterfly. This compact and dense region is believed to be closely associated with the early stages of forming massive stars.
