Coleslaw Dressing Recipe

Boiled coleslaw is made with a hot vinegar salad dressing. It’s similar to this Carolina slaw, and it would be wonderful on fish tacos, burgers, or pulled pork.

Ingredients

  • 01 large head cabbage, shredded
  • 01 small onion, finely chopped
  • 01 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 01 cup vinegar
  • 01 cup sugar, or to taste
  • 02 to 03 cup cooking oil
  • 01 tablespoon salt

Step 01: Gather the ingredients.

Step 02: Combine shredded cabbage, onion, and green pepper in a large bowl.

Step 03: Heat dressing ingredients in a medium saucepan until sugar is dissolved and syrup is boiling.

Step 04: Pour boiling syrup over cabbage and let stand until salad is cold. When cold, cover and place in refrigerator to chill for 24 hours. When ready to serve, stir to mix cabbage.

Serve Immediately: Boiled Coleslaw with salad dressing is best enjoyed. Serve it immediately to savor the crispy texture and maximize the flavors.
