Suspects Apprehended in Connection to the Deaths of Canadian Film Entrepreneur Daniel Langlois and Partner in Dominica
Two individuals have been formally accused in connection with the tragic deaths of Quebec-born film entrepreneur Daniel Langlois and his partner in the Caribbean nation of Dominica, as announced by the country’s Director of Public Prosecutions, Sherma Dalrymple, during a news conference on Thursday.
Dalrymple disclosed that Jonathan Lehrer and Robert Thomas Snider were charged on Wednesday for the murders of Langlois and his partner, Dominique Marchand. The two accused appeared in court, though they have not yet entered a plea. A preliminary inquiry is set for March 15.
Langlois, aged 66, and Marchand, aged 58, were discovered last Friday in a burned-out car near the luxury resort they owned in Dominica, a small volcanic island situated between Guadeloupe and Martinique.
During the news conference, Police spokesman Jeoffrey James informed reporters that three arrests were made when officers visited a property close to what investigators believe is a “secondary crime scene.” Subsequently, a fourth person was taken into custody.
Details regarding whether the other two individuals arrested will also face charges remain unclear at this point. James emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.
